Project details:The expansion of this Rapid Response Laboratory in Manchester combined with the ever growing volumes of samples they deal with, meant a move to new, much larger premises. Operating over a sizeable area in the Northwest, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and parts of North Wales, the lab’s core business remains regional servicing for private hospitals. The site has an auto lab for haematology and clinical chemistry, as well as labs for immunology and molecular and blood transfusion with an increasing proportion of the work made up of postal STI and serology samples and two courier runs to London each day! With our experience in delivering lab projects, we held numerous online meetings with the client team and the architects during the Covid lockdowns to establish final practical requirements and bench design details where the Manchester team implemented their own ‘stamp’ on the project.
